So, I have had this thing for quite a while. And I rooted it very early on. It's been so long, I have NO idea what method I used, and at this point Amazon apps are just not working, presumably because the Fire OS is so out of date. I'd like to unroot, update the OS, get those apps working, and then maybe use Fire Toolbox to redo any customizations, and I already tried FTB and it doesn't work.
